Weinberger takes over Burlington’s City Hall

A jubilant crowd delivered the fanfare for Miro Weinberger as he stepped up as Burlington’s 42nd mayor.

The new mayor made no mention of his predecessor, Progressive Mayor Bob Kiss, who sat quietly near the back of the auditorium. Nor did anyone else; his name was not mentioned in public comments all night.

Maryland's Batman Looks Like A Real Hero

After the news broke that police in Montgomery County, Md., last week stopped Batman for not having the correct plates on his Batmobile, many naturally wanted to know more about the man behind that mask.

The Washington Post today profiles the mysterious Caped Crusader, and it turns out that he does seem to be something of a real life hero to sick children around Washington, D.C. -

Getting lost in Jonathan Blow’s “The Witness”

But Blow says creating a story that was so personal was tougher than he expected, leading to a few initial attempts that “came out kind of patronizing, as you can imagine,” he said. The key to making the writing process work, Blow said, was just opening up in a way that was “very personal and honest and straightforward.” He compared the process to going on a first date, where you can come off as artificial if you try too hard to present what you think your partner wants.

An inside look at a new open world puzzle game from Jonathan Blow, creator of the critically acclaimed sidescroller Braid. I’ve been curious for some time what Blow has been getting up to since Braid, and I’m happy to see that’s it’s both a bit of a departure and an evolution from his previous work.
