Part time philosopher, full time coder. I dabble in many things. One day I will probably write half a novel about it.
I'm not much of a photographer, but I like to play one on Instagram.

Time to Go (Posted to instagram)
This bus and all of its charm are parked directly outside the Maglaniero Café.
Preflight (Posted to Instagram at Burlington International Airport (BTV))
Just a quick snapshot looking towards the runway on what turned out to be a beautiful but gusty day.
Nuda Veritas, ‘LIVE’ Album Review
by Dan Bolles at Seven Days:
Pulling largely from Verses of Versus, it’s a chilling work that showcases her songwriting in a stripped-down setting, and sacrifices some of that record’s head-spinning experimentation in favor of stark intimacy.
Good friend and talented Musician, Rebecca Kopycinski (of the one-woman force that is Nuda Veritas), has just released a new album, reviewed here by 7Days.
Her sound is evolving, and it’s an absolute delight to witness. The album can be had for free from her website, and you can hear her perform Wednesday April 11th at the Monkey House.
Ruth Stone (Posted to Instagram at 85 North Union)
While headed downtown I noticed a rock garden at the corner of Grant and North Union. This cairn sported some words from the appropriately named poet Ruth Stone.

A jubilant crowd delivered the fanfare for Miro Weinberger as he stepped up as Burlington’s 42nd mayor.
…
The new mayor made no mention of his predecessor, Progressive Mayor Bob Kiss, who sat quietly near the back of the auditorium. Nor did anyone else; his name was not mentioned in public comments all night.
No surprise there. Kiss, we all know you meant well but you really need to own up to Burlington Telecom mess.

Somewhere over southern Vermont on my way back from Rutland. Gloomy day, but it was nice to see some green coming through.
Turquoise Lake (Posted to Instagram at Brandon Center)
Just a simple shot out the window over Brandon. That’s some kind of holding lake down there. It really stood out amongst the scarified post-winter Vermont landscape.
via The Burlington Free Press:
Vermont and other states need to continue to fight ongoing racism that permeates our society.
That was the common thread in messages from about three dozen speakers during a rally Tuesday night at Burlington City Hall to remember a 17-year-old boy fatally shot Feb. 26 in Florida. Trayvon Martin, who was black, was killed in Sanford, Fla., as he returned to the home of his father’s girlfriend after buying candy and iced tea.
The shooter, George Zimmerman, a neighborhood crime-watch volunteer, has said the killing was in self-defense, and he has not been arrested.
The “We Are Trayvon Martin” rally drew about 250 people of all races and ages concerned about the Florida case, especially the police investigation.
It was a moving scene. Things like this make me proud to be a Vermonter, but the message that needs to be spread far outweighs my pride - that there is still so much work to be done to combat institutional racism in this country, and it starts with the individual.

Cruising over Vermont at 3500ft on my way to Burlington from Glens Falls. The weather was dark, but winds were kind.
